sorry about that....
My brain isn't working completely with all the stress so I didn't even think about explaining things. As y'all know I'm fat and diabetic. Well, unfortunately that makes for one hospital (Mary Washington Hospital) and one doctor (Ronald Rodriquez with Johns Hopkins) from not wanting to do the surgery.

This surgery gives me the best chance at living. And, yes, I mean that literally, as renal cell carcinoma is treatable, at this size, solely by surgery. If it metastasizes my chance at living more than a year plummets to pretty much nothing.

I'm 33, the thought of doing an ablation (which is NOT done for tumors this size) is horrifying. I want to live damn it. And according to my urologist this surgery is my best chance at doing that. It gives me a 50% chance of living 20 more years. And, yes, while that is a scary ass percentage it is a whole lot more than without it.

So, if you know a urologist willing to operate on a short, fat diabetic with renal cell carcinoma, send him my way, please.

Edited to add; Yes, we do have insurance, now. Tony's job provides damn good coverage. Thank God.

Thanks for explaining it and I can totally see how it's hard to think and write while being stressed. If I remembered right, your diabetes is very, very well controlled since your AIC3 is normal ...? Thank God you do have good insurance and I hope you find a willing urology surgeon soon.

Have you thought about Philadelphia? There's a Cancer Treatment Centers of America hospital in Philadelphia.

Bless you. I hope you find your answer. I want you to live too.

It's probably more of an issue of your weight because your diabetes is under control, isn't it? There must be someone, somewhere who will be willing to do this surgery. This is very distressing news. I'm sorry you have all this added stress, Suzy. I know it must be horrible.
