Today was my follow-up with my surgeon. It looks good, even with the amount of bleeding I had, and the stitches that popped.
I am in a fairly large amount of pain, still, so I'm quite miserable. I'm in a new half-cast for the next 2 weeks. Completely no weight bearing.
Everything went good other than finding out that I have a good bit of tissue damage from the tourniquet that is used during the surgery. My calf and shin were pretty damn sore, so this explains that. I have to keep an eye on it, and make sure that if I feel any odd pain, or shortness of breath to go to the ER.
Since my Dad almost died from a pulmonary embolism following an achiless tendon surgery. So, yeah it's pretty hard to deal with. But, I'll make it through.
And, with this, I'm hurting and tired, so I'll close. Oh, below there are 2 pictures of my incision and bloody foot. They aren't pretty but, they didn't bother me as medicine fascinates me.
Have a good day. Suzy |
