Holidailies... |
I am crazy for signing up but, I couldn't take a chance at missing a year. So, let me introduce myself. I am Suzy, 33, married, aunt, writer, recovering from a radical nephrectomy and a tough broad.. In fact I just had a right nephrectomy (kidney removal) on December 1st. Which is why I am crazy for signing up for this but, if I can do all I have done this week, I can deal with writing a short entry every day.
A little bit more about me, I had the nephrectomy due to a large tumor which was found during a ct scan when I had cellulitis in my tummy. The cellulitis resolved, the tumor did not. In other words I have kidney cancer, or more specifically renal cell cancer.
It took several doctors/hospitals to find one willing to take the tumor and kidney out due to my size. MCV in Richmond, VA ended up doing it. Drs Guruli and Wolters. They have been fantastic and have seen me at least twice a day since the surgery.
They agree that I am a tough broad, as there is no way on earth I thought I would be up and moving this quickly following surgery. I was told that if I just laid around I would die, and I refuse to die over this. I'm young damnit.
There you go a recent update on me. And day 1 of Holidailies, glad to have you here. |

Wow, Suzy, I'm impressed. If you can do Holidailies so soon after such major surgery, the rest of us have no excuses. :) Wishing you the best for continued recovery from the surgery.
